Here are some more pictures from my visit to  Chanticleer Garden in Wayne PA. I am very pleased to say it is a really special garden. I took lots of excellent pictures and will be creating a special album for you to enjoy.
A single blue flower on a big leaf hydrangea. In our climate, blue hydrangeas are a little unreliable. They flower on old wood and if this is damaged  we will get very few flowers
Some of the variegated hostas make such a gorgeous splash of color . They are so easy to grow  and multiply readily each year.
How about this for a lovely display. A basin of water with all kinds of orange flowers floating. Magic!
One of my favorite ornamental trees . The Crimson Frost Birch is an absolute gem. It has purple leaves and white bark and, unlike many other birches, it is very disease free.
Annuals can add a splash of color  and this mixture of red and orange certainly dose that
The 'New' ruin at Chanticleer. A folly that will create romance in the years to come. At the moment it needs a little more greenery!

Annuals don't have to be planted every year. The purple leafed perilla seeds itself freely. It certainly creates an amazing color contrast.

Part of the water feature in the lower garden.

A water feature surrounding the house. Shades of Spanish Moors. I like the Nepeta planted like a hedge on the left. Easy to grow and some varieties flower all year.
The entrance to the tennis court garden. Lots of interesting plant choices.

The tropical courtyard...a delight of differing foliage and water feature.

Part of this court yard is this very pleasing use of a curly Willow. Not only is it attractive in the summer but probably equally attractive in the winter. The stem color can vary from yellow to red!
