The flower show has a strong Latin feel this year. The Festival "de las Flores" was in full swing on Monday the 3rd. We got in early and had a couple of hours before the masses arrived.
This Mexican Style cantina had some delightful ivy topiaries. Here is a bar scene...if you look closes there is a hybrid ivy dog wagging his tail.
The central feature this year consisted of a Puerto Rican town square in full festival mode. In this picture you can see the church at the end of the square  with a cool blue pool in front of it.
On the cutting edge? How about planting your roof. It cuts the utility bills and certainly  stands out in a crowd. Who does the weeding!
The show as per usual is dotted with all kinds of wonderful floral displays. I'm not sure where I spotted this one.
Simple elegance. The Agave plant is a visually stunning element in this garden. It's also used to make Tequila, I love the large pot used as a fountain.
The line of yellow stemmed dogwooods makes for a low key border to the sculpture at the end. Although it's not clear, the retaining wall in this display were made of compressed re-cycled products.
Spring is conjured up in this display...lots of annuals and perennials planted informally to make this a n eye catching winner.
Japanese Maples are one of the best small trees for our gardens. With carefully pruning and training small trees soon grow into these beautiful specimens. worth hundreds of dollars.
A lovely combination for early spring. A white crocus laced amongst the bright stems of a red stemmed dogwood. Baileys red is one of the best . Its red color strengthens as spring approaches. In the growing season it goes green again.
