Weather vanes seem to stand out even more in the winter landscape. Here is a simple but highly attractive banner style vane. It sits on top of our cafe.

The golden yuccas keep their color for a long time into winter. They spread effectively to cover a large area.

6th December 2003

I love statues in the winter landscape. Placed in the right spot they can really add something special to a dull corner. Like a lot of hardscape they  become much more noticeable in the short winter days.

6th December 2003

It's time to start your fall tidy up. We have been very busy already. Weeding, cutting back perennials, manuring and re mulching.

10th October 2003

A very useful multi-tool. Wire cutters, saw blade, knife, scissors. I always carry it with me.

10th October 2003

Asters with a little butterfly. We have asters scattered all over the garden center. Some big some small. There are some many excellent varieties to chose from.

16th October 2003

The flowers of the Pee Gee hydrangeas are always interesting in the fall.

16th October 2003

Even the earlier flowering wood hydrangeas keep their old flowers.

16th October 2003

The Berries of the gorgeous winterberries start to show their amazing color this time of the year.

16th October 2003

Our selection of trough gardens look particularly good with all the evergreens. We give them a little protection in the winter.

 16th October 2003

The amazing purple leaf euphorbia comes into it's own again in the fall.

16th October 2003

This years is a remarkable year for winterberries. They have loved all the moisture and, as a result, are dripping with red berries.

30th Nov 2003

Our first real snowfall. It's amazing just how nice the landscape looks with a little dusting of snow. All the shapes and silhouettes are accentuated in the winter sun.
