Autumn joy sedums develop a rich burgundy color this time of year.

 Lucy's Pink Chrysanthemum flowers about now. A cheery spreading creature that has that wonderful old fashioned look to it.

 Just how big are the giant miscanthus and tartarian aster? This picture of me in the fore ground gives you an idea. The two make a lovely combination this time of year. They are great screening plants.

This the eupatorium chocolate in flower at home. It has lost a little of the leaf colour it is famous for but it has started to flower.

This is the strip of grass that was sown a couple of weeks ago. It's beginning to look quite nice. I kept a house handy for those dry periods. It should really thicken up over the next few weeks.

Aconitum napellus. Great color for the fall garden. I have learnt to plant them in full sun.

Our mini evergreen gardens can be left out into the colder months. I give them a little protection in Jan February and March

Japanese anemonies can get quite tall. Give them sun and a  little space.

Our  bridge is frames with a clump of flame grass. Miscanthus sinensis purpurescens. It turns its fiery red color. Like most grasses it thrives in a full sun  location.

A clump of colchicum. These autumn crocus come out of no where this time of year. Amongst this group we have the double flowering Warerlily variety.

This lovely upright yellow water lily keeps sending up flowers well into fall

Leave not only reflect light but let some pass through. The translucent quality of the leaf often has a different color than the reflected. Here the leaves of Forest Pansy redbud appear much more red.
