One of the last daylilies to flower. The magnificent Sandra Elizabeth deserves a place in everyone's yard

A simple fountain made up of hand cast bronze fish. The small fish start at $49

Peachies Passion Stokesia is a a dwarf long blooming variety.

15th September 2004

The delightful multi blue clematis. To be honest, I had forgotten I had planted it. What a pleasant surprise!

2nd July 2004

Daffodil foliage must be left to die back naturally. If you cut them back too early they may weaken and not produce flowers. We tied these in knots to keep them a little tidier.

2nd July 2004

This is a young Crimson Frost Birch. It is much improved in our landscape. The foliage is full and the color a deep purple. It is planted on our cafe  garden Terrace.

2nd July 2004

One of the many new cultivars of Philadelphus or the Mockoranges. The newer ones are very fragrant and much smaller than normal ones. We have varieties like Snow goose, Innocence, Blizzard and Buckley's Quill.

This is a small shade area outside our main shop entrance. All kinds of cool plants love this location. I've got maiden hair ferns, pulmonarias and some select hosta.

4th  July 2004

Time to prune? The left hand side of this Montgomery Spruce has been cut back.  We did this for a TV show. I'll do the other side in the winter and we can use the stunning blue foliage for winter decoration.

Plant of the Year? Well my selections would have to include Endless Summer Hydrangea. The first blue hydrangea to flower reliably in our area. Excellent!

4th  July 2004

Herman's Pride Lamiastrum. Don't you just love the foliage. An easy to grow perennial for the shade garden.

4th  July 2004

What a bumper crop of flowers on my Jackman's Clematis this year. The new Dawn rose got severe die back but the clematis is  thriving.

4th  July 2004

Part of my blue border at home. The plants did great this year especially the poolside nepeta in the foreground.
